Privacy Policy — Starlit Magic

1. Overview

AliKat Digital operates the Starlit Magic iOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and collecting only the data necessary to operate the app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

Apple ID identifier (via Sign in with Apple). When you sign in, Apple provides us with a unique user identifier and may share your name and email address. You can choose at sign-in to share your real email or to use Apple's "Hide My Email" relay service, which gives us a private random address that forwards to your real one.
Display name. A name you choose for your profile within the app. This does not need to be your real name.
Trip details. Dates, parks, resort selections, and party member names you enter when planning a trip.
Community posts. Any text or photos you submit to the public Community feed. Posts are displayed without your name attached but are linked to your account internally for moderation purposes.
Party data. Group chat messages, party member names, and approximate location (only while a party session is active) when you use the My Party feature.
Hidden Mickey progress and app preferences. Stored on-device and synced to your account.

Information collected automatically

Device and usage data. App version, iOS version, device model, language, time zone, screen views, session duration, and feature usage. Collected via Google Firebase Analytics.
Diagnostic data. Crash logs, performance metrics, and stack traces collected via Google Firebase Crashlytics when the app encounters an error.
Push notification tokens. A device-specific identifier issued by Apple Push Notification service (APNs) and stored via Firebase Cloud Messaging, used only to deliver notifications you have opted into.
Approximate location. Used only when you create or join a party session in the My Party feature, to display your position to your party members. Location is not stored on our servers after the session ends.
Purchase history. Records of in-app purchases, processed and verified through Apple StoreKit.

We do not collect: your full legal name (unless you choose to enter it as your display name), payment card information, your contacts, your photo library beyond images you explicitly post, your precise location history, your browsing history outside the app, or your microphone or camera data.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

Operate the app and authenticate your account
Save and sync your trip plans, party data, and Hidden Mickey progress
Deliver Community posts and enable group chat in My Party
Verify in-app purchases and unlock premium content
Send push notifications you have opted into (trip countdowns, party updates)
Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
Understand which features are used so we can improve the app
Respond to support requests
Enforce our Terms and prevent abuse

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.

4. In-App Purchases

All purchases are processed by Apple via StoreKit. We do not receive or store payment card information. Starlit Magic Premium is a one-time purchase of $19.99 that unlocks the full content library, including Bar Crawls, Hidden Mickey directions, and all Insider Guides. The purchase is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device where you are signed in.

5. Location Data

The app uses your approximate location only when you create or join a party in the My Party feature. Location is shared in real time with the members of your active party so they can see where you are in the park. Location data is not stored on our servers after the session ends.

You can revoke location access at any time in your iPhone Settings under Privacy & Security → Location Services → Starlit Magic. Revoking access will disable My Party location features but will not affect the rest of the app.

6. Third-Party Services

Starlit Magic relies on the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

Apple Inc.

App Store, StoreKit (in-app purchases), Sign in with Apple, Apple Push Notification service, and MapKit (Maps and attraction pins). Governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Google LLC — Firebase

We use the following Firebase services, operated by Google LLC:

Firebase Authentication — manages your sign-in session and stores your unique account identifier
Cloud Firestore — stores your trip plans, Community posts, and party data
Firebase Realtime Database — supports My Party live group features
Firebase Analytics — collects aggregated, non-personally-identifiable usage data
Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash reports and diagnostic information
Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications

Use of Firebase services is governed by the Google Privacy Policy and the Firebase Privacy and Security Information.

ThemeParks.wiki

We query a public, free API for live ride wait times and park hours. No personal information about you is sent to ThemeParks.wiki.

Open-Meteo

We query a public, free weather API to display Orlando weather. We send only approximate coordinates for the requested forecast and do not transmit any account or device identifiers.

7. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We retain your account data while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data directly within the app at any time:

Profile → Delete Account (under "Danger Zone")

Account deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. It removes your authentication record, trip data, party data, Community posts, and all other personal information from our systems. Aggregate analytics data that has already been anonymized is not affected by individual deletion requests.

If you cannot access the app for any reason, you may also request deletion by emailing [email protected].

8. Children's Privacy

Starlit Magic is rated 18+ on the App Store and is intended for adult users due to alcohol-related content (bar crawl features). The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

9. Your Choices

Sign-in: You can choose at any time to sign out from Profile → Sign Out, which clears your local session.
Email privacy: You can use Apple's "Hide My Email" relay service when signing in, so we never see your real email address.
Push notifications: You can disable in iPhone Settings → Notifications → Starlit Magic.
Location access: You can disable in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Analytics: You can opt out of Firebase Analytics by uninstalling the app.
Account deletion: Available in-app at any time (see Section 7).

10. Security

We use Firebase's standard security practices, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit and Firestore security rules to limit access to your data to your authenticated session. No system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we ever experience a data breach affecting your information, we will notify affected users in accordance with applicable law.

11. International Users

Starlit Magic is operated from the United States. If you use the app from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app or applicable law. The "Effective" date at the top of this page indicates when the current version took effect. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email.
